We explored Roissy together and enjoyed Pizza for dinner.
She was so proud of her discovery of a Toilette!

Off to Nevers
The next day (Friday, 2 Sept) we took a hired van from CDG Airport area (Roissy) to Nevers - 3 hr drive. Gail, our driver, was a perky, attractive, friendly French girl. I found out she was married with no children. She also drove an ambulance. She was an excellent driver - she maintained 130 km most of the way and maneuvered through 3 toll booths without stopping.
At our destination: Best Western de Diane, Nevers with Gail
Exploring Nevers - Carolyn
After a congenial lunch at an outdoor shaded patio at the top of a brasserie, Barry and I strolled around Nevers. We checked out the Ducal Palace, built at the end of the 15th century. The handsome seated gentleman is wearing clothing typical of the era which would have been worn by the Duke de Donzague. The sculptures around this monument carry the Duke's motto, "I don't retreat or deviate", which seems am apt motto for our canal adventure!
The large painting Token of Friendship, commemorates the link between Smremska Mitrovica, Serbia and Nevers.

Glad to hear that C&B arrived safe and sound(ish).
