All of us were in awe of the beauty of this bit of nature. Once back out of fairyland we were cruising along forests where we hear you can find truffles. Too bad we didn't bring a sniffer dog. And on we went making our way through 28 locks. We traveled for 8 hours for a total of 12 kilometres. Yes you read that right but it was unbelievably worth every bit of it.

The Tunnels - Les voûtes de La Collancelle et les 28 Écluses - Par Simone et Gerry (some pics)
Yesterday was by far the most picturesque day yet. We started the day by entering three tunnels in what is known as " Les Voutes de la Collancelle". The first tunnel: 800 meters was the longest. As we meandered through you could see bats flying around (huge bats), well they looked huge to one passenger! She, who shall remain nameless, could be seen cowering very low on the deck with her hoodie on. There were even a few shrieks resonating in the dark, dark tunnel. Between the tunnels you boat through a succession of rock and green walls covered in moss and vines. It was like a little Amazon, quiet, serene, mysterious.
